Belize: New Regulation for Nominees
April 16, 2026We are pleased to announce that our associate, Ms. Valerie Barrios, participated in the 5th Americas Meeting organized by AIJA, held in Lima, Peru, from March 26 to 28, 2026.
Under the theme “Navigating Change: The Role of Lawyers in Resilience, Risk, and Renewal,” this event brought together legal professionals from various jurisdictions to analyze the current challenges facing the legal profession in contexts marked by economic uncertainty, political change, and evolving regulatory frameworks.
During the academic sessions, held at the Pullman Miraflores Hotel, a series of panels and discussions addressed key topics for contemporary legal practice. These included legal strategies for structuring investments in volatile environments, evolving standards in corporate governance and crisis management, as well as the legal implications of natural resource development, community engagement, and associated risks.
In addition, relevant trends in regulatory compliance, anti-corruption efforts, and ESG criteria were discussed, reflecting the growing importance of these issues both regionally and globally. The program also featured a keynote address by Ms. Magali Silva, who shared her perspective on economic and regulatory challenges from an institutional standpoint.
Participation in this type of international forum allows for the strengthening of knowledge exchange, the broadening of perspectives, and the consolidation of professional networks with colleagues from around the world.
At our firm, we reaffirm our commitment to continuous professional development and excellence, actively promoting our team’s participation in spaces that contribute to the development of a solid, innovative legal practice aligned with the challenges of the global environment.
