
Quijano & Associates sponsors the CEO Women Summit 2026 in Panama
July 14, 2026Quijano & Associates participated in an event organized by our client RI Group Panama, aimed at highlighting the opportunities Panama offers as a destination for investment, business establishment, and residency for investors and retirees.
During the presentations session, our partner Oliver Muñoz discussed the different legal immigration solutions available to individuals interested in relocating to or investing in Panama. The principal topics included the Qualified Investor Permanent Residence Permit and the Retiree or Pensioner Visa, as well as the legal considerations that should be assessed when selecting the most appropriate immigration alternative.
His presentation provided attendees with a practical overview of the requirements, benefits, and procedures associated with these immigration programs, while emphasizing the importance of obtaining appropriate legal advice when structuring an investment or planning a residency process in Panama.
The event featured a distinguished panel of speakers and opened with welcoming remarks by H.E. Mario Boyd Galindo, Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to Colombia. Among the keynote speakers was Walter Cohen de la Guardia, National Director of PROPANAMA at the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, who presented Panama as a strategic investment platform, highlighting the country’s legal certainty, sustained economic growth, and the stability it offers to foreign investors.
H.E. Fernando Méndez, Vice Minister of Housing and Land Management of the Republic of Panama, addressed urban development and real estate investment opportunities in the country from the perspective of sustainable urban planning and growth. His presentation covered new expansion and appreciation areas, infrastructure and territorial development, as well as the outlook for Panama’s real estate market.
Eric Calderón, Deputy General Manager of Business at the National Bank of Panama, also provided an overview of the strength of Panama’s financial system, access to financing, and the confidence the country offers to both domestic and international investors.
On her side, Karla Duque, Director of Tourism and Culture of the Panama City Mayor’s Office, highlighted Panama City as a showcase for investment, innovation, connectivity, and urban development, emphasizing its position as an attractive destination for living, doing business, and investing.
Our firm’s participation took place over two days. In addition to the presentation session, on Saturday the 11th, our team was present throughout the day at an exhibition stand, where we addressed inquiries and shared information with individuals interested in learning more about the legal, immigration, and investment opportunities available in Panama.
Quijano & Associates was also represented by our Director for Colombia, Juan Esteban Arellano, and our Commercial Manager, Sofia Johnson, who had the opportunity to engage with participants, business leaders, and investors interested in developing projects, establishing operations, or relocating to Panama.
