Consensus Miami 2026: the Leading Global Event on Blockchain and Digital Assets
June 1, 2026Continuous professional development and ongoing legal education are fundamental pillars in delivering excellence in dispute resolution services. In this context, we are pleased to highlight the participation of our Litigation and Arbitration team in the international training program organized by the ICC Institute of World Business Law in Panama City, entitled “Oral Advocacy in International Arbitration: The Good, the Bad, and the In-Between.”
Representing our firm were Adriano Correa, Director of Litigation and Arbitration; Rolando Villalobos, Senior Associate; and Anna Bernal Riley, Associate, who attended this advanced-level program focused on strengthening oral advocacy skills in international arbitration proceedings.
The conference brought together distinguished international arbitration practitioners and arbitrators; and the program addressed key topics shaping contemporary arbitration practice, including:
- The relationship between written submissions and oral advocacy in arbitration proceedings.
- Best practices for opening statements and closing arguments during hearings.
- Effective witness and expert examination and cross-examination techniques.
- The strategic use of documentary evidence and visual aids in case presentations.
- Persuasion and oral advocacy strategies before international arbitral tribunals.
Participation in specialized programs of this nature strengthens our ability to effectively represent clients in complex disputes, both in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. It also reinforces our commitment to adopting global best practices in dispute resolution and to the continuous professional development of our legal team.
In an increasingly dynamic and globalized business environment, international arbitration continues to establish itself as one of the most effective mechanisms for resolving commercial disputes. For this reason, our firm remains actively engaged in leading conferences, educational programs, and academic forums that enable us to stay at the forefront of developments and international standards in the legal profession.
We extend our appreciation to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the ICC Institute of World Business Law for promoting initiatives that contribute to the advancement of arbitration practice across the region and foster the exchange of knowledge among leading professionals in the field.
