Administrative Authorities’ Terms Suspension has been extended
Administrative Authorities in Panama have decided to extend the measures adopted for the suspension of terms, due to the situation that our country is going through due to the health crisis related to the Covid-19 virus pandemic.
Ministry of Labor
Through Resolution No. DM-147-2020 of 2020, the Ministry of Labor extends the suspension of judicial terms in processes and actions dealt at the General Directorate of Labor and other regional directorates from March 31st to April 30th, 2020.
Likewise, it is resolved to suspend and reschedule the hearings and conciliations that should take place within the afore-mentioned period.
Additionally, in the above-mentioned Resolution, it is indicated that the service of job guidance will continue to be provided through digital means (MITRADEL DIGITAL) and telephone communication.
The Ministry of Labor, through Resolution DM-149-2020 of 2020, extends until April 30th, 2020, the validity of all work permits that expired since March 12th, 2020.
Likewise, filing, monitoring, marriage interviews, notifications, and issuance of work permit cards are suspended until April 30th, 2020.
The Conciliation and Decision Boards of the Ministry of Labor, through Resolution No.DM-148 of March 30th, 2020, extends the suspension of judicial terms. Such suspension applies from March 31st until April 30th, 2020, which could be extended.
National Immigration Service
Through Resolution No. 6518 of April 1st, 2020, it extends until April 30th, 2020 the residence permits of foreigners, which expired since March 13th, 2020.
Likewise, the suspension of the terms is ordered in the processes, the attention and actions that are managed at this institution and its regional offices until April 30th, 2020, and it is worth mentioning that this period may be extended.
National Authority of Public Services
By means of a communication dated March 27th, 2020, the registration process for the Large-Clients’ Supply Contract is suspended.
Through Resolution AN No.1072 ADM of March 13th, 2020, the suspension of the terms of all administrative processes handled at this institution is decreed.
Superintendence of Banks
Through a communication dated March 26th, 2020, it is indicated that the suspension of the terms dictated by General Resolution No. SBPRG-0001-2020 of March 18th, 2020 is still in force.
Ministry of Economy and Finance
Panama Tax Authority
By Resolution No. 201-2401 of March 30th, 2020, the term is extended to June 30th, 2020 for the submission of forms which reporting period corresponds to the months of February, March and April 2020, concerning:
1. Non-reporting taxpayer report.
2. Debit cards sales report.
3. Purchases and Imports of Goods and Services report
Games Control Board
Through Resolution No. 18 of March 18th, 2020, it is resolved to suspend the terms in administrative processes until April 7th, 2020, a measure that can be extended.
In the same way, appointments given by the Inspection Department of Game Rooms and Racetracks and other Gambling Games have been rescheduled on April 14th, 2020.
Transit and Land Transportation Authority
The executing court of this institution has granted an extension until July 1st, 2020 for the monthly payments of March, April, May and June 2020 on all payment arrangements for tickets imposed for violations of Traffic Regulations.
In turn, it informs that from the date all driver’s licenses with expiration dates in the months of March, April and May 2020, they are granted an extension in their validity until June 30th, 2020.
