About Us
Since our foundation in 1959, we have provided services in all matters related to the formation of companies, foundations and trusts; vessel registration and fiduciary services, among others.
Quijano & Associates offers comprehensive maritime law services, including the registration and representation of vessels under the Panamanian flag, as well as advisory solutions for the creation and maintenance of legal entities across multiple jurisdictions. These include Panama, the British Virgin Islands, Seychelles, Belize, Hong Kong, The Bahamas, The Marshall Islands and Nevis.
With over six decades of experience, our firm has become a trusted partner for banks, international financial institutions, shipping companies, foreign investors, and multinational corporations. From our headquarters in Panama and Switzerland, and through our subsidiaries in the BVI, Belize, Seychelles, and The Bahamas—along with representative offices in Liechtenstein and Hong Kong—we deliver personalized, efficient, and confidential legal support.
We also operate our own trust company, Quijano Trust Corporation, and act as Special Agents for corporate and maritime matters in the Marshall Islands.
Global companies seeking to establish regional headquarters in Panama, international investors looking to benefit from the country’s territorial tax system, and leading shipping lines continue to rely on our law firm for efficiency, reliability, and responsive service.
As part of our international reach, Quijano & Associates is a proud member of several prestigious legal networks, including the International Society of Primerus Law Firms, Geneva Group International, and IR Global.
As of 2026, Quijano & Associates formalized a strategic integration with the Panamanian law firm De Obaldía & García de Paredes, with the purpose of expanding our professional capabilities, strengthening our service offering, and further consolidating our presence in the Panamanian market.
This alliance brings together the experience of two law firms whose combined trajectory exceeds 100 years of legal practice. Beyond the numbers, this represents the unification of talents, knowledge, and values that allow us to reaffirm our commitment to providing legal counsel of the highest quality, always under the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and excellence.

One of the pillars of our firm is the integrity of our lawyers and staff.
This principle is observed within the context of competence and a first class legal formation, allowing us to professionally and efficiently act, fulfilling the needs of our clientele. At Quijano & Associates, “we transform challenges into opportunities.”

Gender Equality
Achieving gender equality in our workplace, at all levels, is one of our main goals as a global nature organization.
Quijano & Associates, in alliance with Rotary International, is the first Panamanian law firm to stand at an international level, hosting regional webinars to showcase not only the main characteristics about female leadership, but to compare the legal framework that boosts female leadership in Latin American countries, and the different initiatives each country has taken at a public, private and social level.
In our constant commitment to close the gender equality gap in our workplace, we have implemented different initiatives such as:
- Ethics Committee in compliance with Law 7 of 2018 to guarantee a non-discrimination environment.
- Lactation room with all required accommodations for breastfeeding mothers at work.
- Hosting local webinars for different civil and private associations, as well as private business to inform women about their rights.
