October 8, 2025From October 1 to 3, 2025, Quijano & Associates had the honor of participating in the 34th Latin American Trust Congress (COLAFI), held in the city of La Antigua, Guatemala, consolidating its position as one of the most relevant events in the fiduciary industry in the region.
Our firm was represented by Marcos Tuñón, Manager of Fiduciary Business at our trust company, Quijano Trust Corporation, and Marjorie Tomilson, Compliance Coordinator of our law firm, who actively participated in the academic sessions and professional exchanges that brought together leaders, experts, and representatives from the Latin American financial sector.
The objective of the Congress is to bring together professionals and specialists from the fiduciary sector to analyze, discuss, and share best practices, trends, and challenges related to trusts in Latin America, fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development within the industry.
Throughout the three-day event, speakers from Panama, Colombia, Guatemala, Peru, Uruguay, Ecuador, Switzerland, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, the United States, Venezuela, and Mexico addressed key topics highlighting the role of trusts in strengthening the regional economy, wealth management, transparency, and financial sustainability.
The Congress program included keynote presentations and specialized panels on fiduciary regulation, compliance, technological innovation, wealth administration, and best practices in trust management, providing a valuable platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among participants.
