Panama’s Stock Market now has electronic signature and simplified account opening

Quijano & Associates extends its gratitude to the Panamanian Association of Capital Markets (APAMEC) for having given our professional team the opportunity to provide legal advice, in the process of adoption by the Superintendence of the Securities Market of Panama of Agreement No. 8-2023 of December 13, 2023, which establishes the rules for the investment accounts of simplified procedure in the Securities Brokerage Firms, and Agreement No. 9-2023 of December 13, 2023, which establishes provisions for the use of electronic signatures, simple or qualified, in documents related to securities market activities.

We are confident that these regulatory instruments will be useful for securities intermediaries and to promote greater participation of investors in the securities market.
